Hey, there! Welcome to West Coast Golfer. As you can probably tell, this website is a bit of a work in progress. Give me a couple minutes, though, and I’ll explain why you might want to bookmark this site for the future.
My name’s Matt and I’m a golfer in the PNW. I’ve been playing the game for 2 1/2 years as of summer 2022. I love golf as I’m sure you do, despite how punitive it can be 🙂
There are many things I love about the game — the strategy, the creativity, the challenges, the self-improvement, and so on.
The other thing I like about the game are all the options for how to enjoy it — playing a different course every weekend or two, hitting the driving range, renting a simulator, and more.
However, the more I play and the more people I meet, the more I realize how unfamiliar I am with all the options for playing and enjoying golf in my area (Vancouver, WA / Portland, OR) — never mind throughout the west coast.
What I want to do with this website is provide a resource that you and I can use to find new golf courses to try out, practice areas for improving my game, local companies that offer simulator rentals, and even local artisans that create custom golf equipment and supplies.
Golf also happens to be expensive, as I’m sure you’re aware. This can make it tough to play as often as you want or travel to try new courses or companies. So, I will work with golf courses and companies all along the pacific coast to provide discounts and other deals to help you enjoy golf as frequently as you want.
